Le théâtre a été construit de 1902 à 1904 sur un projet de Lafont, architecte diocésain de Nantes. Il s'apparente aux constructions thermales et aux casinos de la Belle Epoque. La sculpture de la façade a été confiée à Gaucher en 1903 et les décors de la salle ont été réalisés par le peintre Karbowsky. En 1949, deux portes et deux escaliers ont été percés dans les murs de la salle. En 1957, le plafond de la salle et les parties hautes des murs ont été entièrement refaits.

History
The theatre was built from 1902 to 1904 on a project by Lafont, diocesan architect of Nantes. It resembles thermal constructions and casinos of the Belle Époque. The sculpture of the façade was entrusted to Gaucher in 1903 and the decorations of the hall were executed by painter Karbowsky. In 1949, two doors and two staircases were cut through the walls of the hall. In 1957, the ceiling of the hall and the upper parts of the walls were entirely redone.
