Historique

History
This calvary is the witness to the alliance of the families of lords of the place, of Keranguen and of Kersauzon. Their arms are presented, mixed, by the two marmosels which form the open console on which rest the Christ in cross, Saint-John and Mary (on the western face), and a Pietà with the Holy Women (on the eastern face). The comparison of the statuary with that of the classified M.H. calvary of Brasparts (29) reveals to us an obvious kinship between the two works and leads us to suppose that they are from the same workshop which, given the fineness and academicism of the sculpture (the detail of the median fall of the perizonium of Christ can belong to the Flemish school, while the position of the arms can find its source in English alabasters of the 15th century), would not be local but would be a major workshop of the hexagon.
