Construite de 1952 à 1957 par l'architecte Jean Rédreau, l'église Saint-Lazare fut élevée à l'emplacement et en réutilisant ce qui restait de l'église du 16e siècle lourdement endommagée par les combats du 16 août 1944. De modeste apparence, cette église se signale par le soin apporté à son décor : décor sculpté par l'artiste Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) sur la façade occidentale (La Cène, scènes de la Passion du Christ) , et décor vitré (histoire du village de Lèves depuis l'invasion normande de 911 jusqu'à sa destruction en 1944) par Gabriel Loire, dans la technique de la dalle du verre, dont il s'était fait la spécialité, et qui constitue un exemple rare en région Centre de cette technique pourtant promise à un bel avenir.

History
Built from 1952 to 1957 by architect Jean Rédreau, the church of Saint-Lazare was erected on the site and reusing what remained of the 16th-century church severely damaged by the fighting of 16 August 1944. Of modest appearance, this church is distinguished by the care taken with its decoration: sculpted decoration by the artist Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) on the western façade (The Last Supper, scenes of the Passion of Christ), and glass decoration (history of the village of Lèves from the Norman invasion of 911 to its destruction in 1944) by Gabriel Loire, in the technique of glass slab, of which he had made himself the specialist, and which constitutes a rare example in the Centre region of this technique which nevertheless was promised a fine future.
