History
The manor of Surcy appears to date back to the first half of the 11th century. The present manor comprises: - a 13th century main dwelling, of rectangular plan, with storey, with openings in pointed arch, built over a cellar in the eastern part; the south façade has retained most of its ancient openings; the ground floor, re-divided in the 18th century, has retained a monumental fireplace of the 14th or 15th century. - a 13th century barn of which only the south gable and west wall remain. - an independent vaulted cellar, to the west. - the ruins of the former parish church, essentially of the 16th century. - the southern part of the former enclosure comprising the former parish cemetery.
