Historique
Le prieuré de chanoines réguliers a été fondé en 1118 par le seigneur de Tilly et installé au hameau de Saulseuse quelques années plus tard. Prospère au 13e siècle, il a périclité au 18e siècle et a été supprimé en 1770. Les bâtiments ont alors été rachetés par le prieur commendataire, qui a fait abattre le cloître et la nef de l'église vers 1776. Le prieuré a été vendu comme bien national en 1793. History
The priory of regular canons was founded in 1118 by the lord of Tilly and installed in the hamlet of Saulseuse a few years later. Prosperous in the 13th century, it declined in the 18th century and was suppressed in 1770. The buildings were then bought back by the commendatory prior, who had the cloister and the nave of the church demolished around 1776. The priory was sold as national property in 1793. What remains today is the chevet and the crossing of the transept, as well as a chapter room (around 1320?), the prioral dwelling (modified in the 18th century), and agricultural buildings (18th century), including a tithe barn (14th-15th century), a cellar and a large enclosure with elements of hydraulic system.
