Historique
Nicolas Perrenot de Granvelle (1486-1550), garde des sceaux et premier conseiller d'Etat de Charles Quint, fait construire à partir du mois de mai 1547 une vaste demeure urbaine à Ornans pour son fils Antoine, alors évêque dArras. Cette construction succède à celles du Palais Granvelle (1534-1540) et de l'hôtel Bonvalot (1538-1544 pour François Bonvalot, beau-frère de Nicolas) à Besançon.
Description
Au coeur de la ville, cet hôtel entre cour et jardin couvert d'un toit à deux pans de forte pente est de plan rectangulaire avec deux ailes en retour sur la cour abritant chacune un escalier à vis. L'aile ouest n'est plus que partielle. Un escalier à cage ouverte donne accès à la partie nord-ouest de l'éficie. Les trois niveaux sont distribués par un corridor longeant la façade antérieure. La façade sur cour est régulière, elle présente neuf travées de baies bordées de cavets, tandis que la façade sur jardin offre une alternance rythmée de croisée et demi-croisées, parfois surmontées d'une accolade. La partie est conserve sa distribution originelle et des éléments de décors tels que les cheminées du 16e, 18e et 19e siècles, une pièce lambrissée de hauteur dans un style Louis XV, des portes et menuiseries du 18e s., les plafonds à la française. La partie ouest a perdu l'essenteil de ses éléments en second oeuvre.

History
Nicolas Perrenot de Granvelle (1486-1550), keeper of the seals and first counsellor of state to Charles V, had constructed starting from the month of May 1547 a vast urban dwelling at Ornans for his son Antoine, then bishop of Arras. This construction succeeded those of the Palais Granvelle (1534-1540) and of the hôtel Bonvalot (1538-1544 for François Bonvalot, brother-in-law of Nicolas) at Besançon.
Description
In the heart of the town, this hôtel between courtyard and garden covered with a roof with two pitches of steep slope is of rectangular plan with two wings in return on the courtyard each sheltering a spiral staircase. The west wing is no longer than partial. An open-cage staircase gives access to the north-west part of the edifice. The three levels are distributed by a corridor running along the front façade. The façade onto the courtyard is regular, it presents nine bays bordered by cavets, while the façade onto the garden offers a rhythmic alternation of cross-windows and half cross-windows, sometimes surmounted by an accolade. The east part retains its original distribution and elements of decoration such as the fireplaces of the 16th, 18th and 19th centuries, a room wainscoted full height in a Louis XV style, doors and joinery of the 18th century, French ceilings. The west part has lost the essential parts of its second works.
