Historique

History
This imposing structure, with probably residential function as suggested by the material discovered, is similar to buildings of the "motte-castle" type. One can observe the morphological components of these constructions, namely a motte, a bailey and ditches, numbering three. The motte, circular, dominates the bailey. The three ditches constitute, to the east, an imposing device closing the site from the side of the plateau. Surveys have yielded ceramic sherds and abundant metal artefacts. Coins provide some elements of chronology, essentially for the 15th and 16th centuries. The date of construction of this vast fortified complex, probably from the 11th century onwards, is not established in the absence of exhaustive work.
