Historique
Le château de Lardimalie est édifié en surplomb du bourg de Saint-Pierre de Chignac, au sommet d'une colline au nord. Le chai a été bâti en 1902, à l'ouest du château et s'intégrait à un vaste domaine agricole dont une grande part était plantée de vignes.£L'architecte bordelais Ernest Minvielle en conçut les plans. Le chai présente un plan en U avec un cuvier ( longueur 21m, largeur 11m) s'élevant au centre de l'ensemble. Deux ailes en retour d'équerre délimitent une « cour d'honneur ». L'activité du chai fut stoppée en 1967. Le domaine fut partagé en six, en 1997, et le chai séparé du château. En 2009, il a été transformé en musée consacré à la culture vinicole ainsi qu'à la mémoire de l'ancien propriétaire.

History
The château de Lardimalie is built overlooking the village of Saint-Pierre de Chignac, at the summit of a hill to the north. The wine-storehouse was built in 1902, to the west of the château and was integrated into a vast agricultural estate, a large part of which was planted with vines. The Bordeaux architect Ernest Minvielle designed its plans. The wine-storehouse presents a U-shaped plan with a vat room (length 21m, width 11m) rising at the centre of the ensemble. Two wings at right angles delimit a "courtyard of honour". The activity of the wine-storehouse was stopped in 1967. The estate was divided into six parts in 1997, and the wine-storehouse separated from the château. In 2009, it was transformed into a museum devoted to wine culture as well as to the memory of the former owner.
