L'ancienne paroisse était l'une des quatre prévôtés dépendant de l'abbaye de Brantôme. La construction de l'église romane date de la seconde moitié du 12e siècle, et du 13e siècle pour la façade occidentale. La chambre de défense au-dessus de l'abside fut vraisemblablement construite durant la guerre de Cent ans. Le rectangle de la nef précède un avant-choeur et une abside semi-circulaire à arcature. La sacristie carrée s'adosse au nord de l'avant-choeur.

History
The former parish was one of four provostries dependent on the abbey of Brantôme. The construction of the Romanesque church dates from the second half of the 12th century, and the 13th century for the western façade. The defensive chamber above the apse was probably built during the Hundred Years' War. The rectangle of the nave precedes a fore-choir and a semi-circular apse with arcading. The square sacristy abuts the north of the fore-choir.
