Historique
Un premier château, faisant partie des défenses avancées de la ville de Sarlat, fut construit au 13e siècle. Pendant les siècles suivants, la place change de mains : Anglais, Sarladais, divers propriétaires dont les familles de Roux et d'Abzac jusqu'à la Révolution. Au début du 19e siècle, un nouveau propriétaire commence les transformations de l'édifice. Il est actuellement propriété de la ville. History
A first castle, forming part of the advanced defences of the town of Sarlat, was constructed in the 13th century. During the following centuries, the place changed hands: English, Sarladais, various owners including the families of Roux and d'Abzac until the Revolution. At the beginning of the 19th century, a new owner began the transformations of the building. It is currently owned by the town. The castle consists of two dwelling blocks joined on the south façade by a polygonal tower. A third building appears to have been added in the 19th century. The southern polygonal tower has retained its wall-walk on machicolations with corbels with three steps; it contains a stone spiral staircase; the staircase cage is covered with a barrel vault turning on the newel, whose transverse ribs rest on prismatic corbels.
