Bâti en 1773, l'hôtel Dareau à Saulieu a conservé ses volumes d'origine, avec corps de logis principal, dépendances, écuries, four à pain, grange, atelier, puits. Le jardin , divisé en trois parties (cour et jardin d'agrément, potager, verger), a également été conservé. Un important décor de papier peint, en partie de la fin du 18e siècle (rez-de-chaussée) et en partie du 19e siècle (1er étage, salon chinois, chambre), est également conservé : il témoigne, par la qualité exceptionnelle des motifs et des techniques, de la diffusion rapide des modes décoratives à Saulieu.

History
Built in 1773, the hôtel Dareau in Saulieu has retained its original volumes, with main dwelling, outbuildings, stables, bread oven, barn, workshop, well. The garden, divided into three parts (courtyard and pleasure garden, vegetable garden, orchard), has likewise been preserved. Significant wallpaper decoration, partly from the end of the 18th century (ground floor) and partly from the 19th century (first floor, Chinese salon, bedroom), is also preserved: it testifies, through the exceptional quality of the motifs and techniques, to the rapid dissemination of decorative fashions in Saulieu.
