Historique

History
The construction of this church was requested in 1956 by the parish priest and the bishop of Dijon, in order to serve the new Grésilles district. The building was designed by architect Joseph Belmont after a competition organised in 1960. The architect was inspired by the church of Mazamet which he had just built, applying contemporary techniques of concrete, steel, glass and curtain walls developed by Victor Prouvé. The church, built from 1962 to 1964, anticipates the liturgical reform of Vatican II. It consists of a lower chapel, or crypt, covered with concrete shells resting on thin pillars, and an upper church, square in plan, whose nave and aisles are covered with curved roofs. The isolated bell tower features a campanile supporting a spire.
