Historique
Maison construite vers 1550-1560, sur l'axe de communication reliant Gien à Bourges. Elle est l'une des rares demeures du 16e siècle construite en pierre dans la commune, la ville ayant été bâtie en bois par les seigneurs écossais. Remanié dans la seconde moitié du 18e siècle, le corps de logis sur rue porte, côté cour, une tour d'escalier hors-uvre, polygonale, supportant une chambre haute. Les modillons portant l'encorbellement sont sculptés. Cette pièce haute devait servir de guet. La disposition intérieure du logis a été modifiée dans la seconde moitié du 18e siècle, mais des éléments remontant à la construction ont été conservés : une cheminée en pierre ornée de masques feuillagés et de pilastres supportant un entablement ; un oratoire dont les voûtes d'ogives retombent sur des culots sculptés.

History
House built around 1550-1560, on the communication axis connecting Gien to Bourges. It is one of the rare dwellings of the 16th century built in stone in the commune, the town having been built in wood by the Scottish lords. Altered in the second half of the 18th century, the main dwelling on the street side carries, on the courtyard side, a polygonal stair tower projecting outward, supporting a high chamber. The modillions bearing the corbelling are sculptured. This high room was intended to serve as a watchtower. The interior layout of the dwelling was modified in the second half of the 18th century, but elements dating to the construction have been preserved: a stone fireplace ornamented with foliage masks and pilasters supporting an entablature; an oratory whose rib vaults rest on sculptured corbels.
