Historique
Demeure familiale de Pierre Loti, construite en 1739, vendue par sa grand-mère puis rachetée par le romancier le 7 février 1899, cet ensemble se présente comme un exemple de logis bourgeois insulaire. Une porte charretière et une porte piétonne donnent accès à la maison. A gauche, le corps de logis principal s'élève sur deux niveaux. A droite, se trouvent le chai, la grange, l'écurie et les greniers. Ces deux ensembles sont reliés par une cour centrale pavée qui ouvre sur les jardins au fond desquels est enterré Pierre Loti. La pièce de théâtre, " Judith Renaudin ", jouée en 1899 à Paris, avait cette maison pour décor peint. L'écrivain la cita également de nombreuses fois dans ses œuvres.

History
Family residence of Pierre Loti, constructed in 1739, sold by his grandmother then repurchased by the novelist on 7 February 1899, this ensemble presents itself as an example of an island bourgeois dwelling. A carriage gate and a pedestrian gate give access to the house. On the left, the main dwelling body rises over two storeys. On the right, are found the wine storehouse, the barn, the stable and the granaries. These two ensembles are linked by a central paved courtyard which opens onto gardens at the far end of which Pierre Loti is buried. The theatrical piece, "Judith Renaudin", performed in 1899 in Paris, had this house as its painted setting. The writer also cited it numerous times in his works.
