History

A first church is built in the 11th century, then rebuilt in the 12th century (nave and north portal). The choir dates from the 13th century. From the 15th century onwards, numerous alterations are made, such as the reconstruction of the walls of the nave and the partial walling-up of the portal which allowed the preservation of the original sculptures. The façade is reassembled in the 18th and 19th centuries. The church presents a rectangular plan with a single nave and flat choir vaulted with ribs falling on corbels decorated with human heads. The Romanesque portal, round arch, presents four mouldings, the first being polylobed, and the second fitted with a bearded king's head at its keystone. The archivolt course is sculpted with palmettes. The jambs have offsets, with moulded bases and columns set perpendicularly. The frieze of capitals is ornamental to the east, with palmettes and crockets, feminine or monstrous heads, scrollwork. To the west, most of the capitals are sculpted with palmettes. One capital presents the weighing of souls. The abaci are all historiated. To the north and south, the openings present round-arched lancets. To the east, the façade is pierced by a large window with radiating tracery.
