History

Château-Couvert was limited, in the 13th century, to a tower of defence protecting the neighbouring marshes. The building stands on a rectangular terrace surrounded by a moat and presents a U-shaped plan. The moats are surrounded by parapets and balusters on the courtyard side. The rear elevation of the central main dwelling opens onto a terrace. The narrower right wing houses a chapel remade in the 19th century.
