Vie protestante très active à Cozes au 17e siècle, jusqu'à la révocation de l'Edit de Nantes. Au 18e siècle, un temple est élevé à l'extérieur du village. En 1817, cet édifice est en très mauvais état et les diacres décident d'en construire un nouveau, celui qui existe actuellement. Les travaux, attribués à Jean Bloteau, architecte-entrepreneur, sont achevés en 1821. C'est un des plus anciens temples de Poitou - Charentes. C'est un édifice rectangulaire, dont seule la façade possède un décor architectural : fronton à oculus, porte munie de pilastres doriques à bossage et d'un entablement mouluré et sculpté. History
Very active Protestant life in Cozes in the 17th century, until the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. In the 18th century, a temple is erected outside the village. In 1817, this building is in very poor condition and the deacons decide to build a new one, the one that currently exists. The works, attributed to Jean Bloteau, architect-contractor, are completed in 1821. It is one of the oldest temples in Poitou-Charentes.
