Historique
La terre de la Rigaudière est mentionnée pour la première fois en 1579. Le domaine présente un château à cour rectangulaire, accessible par un portail à fins pilastres moulurés, et bordée de communs bas en moellons. Le logis, en fond de cour, est un long bâtiment classique à deux niveaux, encadré par deux pavillons et agrémenté, au centre des grandes façades, par un avant-corps centrale en faible saillie surmonté d'un fronton triangulaire. La façade antérieure est précédée d'une terrasse à balustres carrés en poire. La façade postérieure donne sur un jardin gazonné et, à son extrémité nord, est adossé un petit pavillon, anciennes latrines, de même style que le logis, coiffé d'un toit à l'Impériale. L'intérieur du logis se compose d'une série de pièces en enfilade à partir d'un vestibule central. Les pièces du rez-de-chaussée ont conservé leur décoration de boiseries peintes de style Louis XV, à fins motifs Rocaille, et leur cheminée 18e parfois ornée de paysages polychromes ou en camaïeu. History
The land of la Rigaudière is mentioned for the first time in 1579. The domain presents a château with rectangular courtyard, accessible by a portal with slender moulded pilasters, and bordered by low communs in rubble stone. The main dwelling, at the back of the courtyard, is a long classical building on two levels, framed by two pavilions and embellished, at the centre of the main façades, by a central avant-corps with slight projection topped by a triangular pediment. The front façade is preceded by a terrace with square balustrades in pear shape. The rear façade overlooks a grassed garden and, at its northern end, is adjoined a small pavilion, former latrines, of the same style as the dwelling, topped with an Imperial roof. The interior of the dwelling consists of a series of rooms in enfilade from a central vestibule. The ground-floor rooms have retained their decorative painted wainscoting in Louis XV style, with fine Rocaille motifs, and their 18th-century fireplaces sometimes decorated with polychrome landscapes or in grisaille. On the upper floor, the north room has retained its painted wainscoting and its alcove.
