Viaduct constructed between 1902 and 1905 under the direction of engineers Draux and Laclôtre. The structure comprises eleven arches of fifteen metres span with round arches, measures 209 metres long and its maximum height is twenty-five metres. The piers are, some without buttress, others termed culée piers, are occupied by a buttress rising up to the plinth. With the exception of rough rubble stone from the neighbouring limestone quarries, all the faced rubble stone and ashlar come from the quarries of Nontron (Dordogne). These are hard granites of a blue tint. The guardrail is in cast iron and the refuges at the top of buttressed piers are in masonry. The single-track roadway, which no longer has rails, is made of old ballast and the pavements are in granite. This viaduct is one of the last to have been constructed in stone, subsequently supplanted by reinforced concrete.
