Historique
Château d'origine médiévale (propriétaires connus depuis le règne de Louis IX) : châtelet d'entrée et une partie du logis du 15e siècle ; donjon circulaire et son décor de la fin du 16e siècle ; logis et aménagements du 18e siècle ; communs transformés au 19e siècle. Les divers corps de bâtiments, logis et ailes de communs sont disposés autour d'une cour et forment un plan en U, le logis occupant le côté sud et la base de ce plan. Il est prolongé d'une aile formant saillie au sud-est. Diverses tours défendent le front ouest. Les fondations de deux autres tours sont visibles, l'une au nord, l'autre à l'extrémité sud-est du logis. Le châtelet d'entrée est placé en biais entre les communs et la terrasse contre laquelle s'appuie le logis. Ce châtelet est accosté d'une tour. Un chemin de ronde couvert se poursuivait jusqu'à la grosse tour. Un garde-corps en fer forgé le remplace sur une grande partie. Le logis de plan en L est composé de trois blocs correspondants à diverses extensions : une partie médiévale assortie d'une aile sud et un corps de logis du 18e siècle. Une galerie donne sur la terrasse.

History
Castle of medieval origin (known owners since the reign of Louis IX): entrance gatehouse and part of the main dwelling of the 15th century; circular keep and its decoration of the late 16th century; main dwelling and arrangements of the 18th century; outbuildings transformed in the 19th century. The various buildings, main dwelling and outbuilding wings are arranged around a courtyard and form a U-shaped plan, the main dwelling occupying the south side and the base of this plan. It is extended by a wing forming a projection to the south-east. Various towers defend the west front. The foundations of two other towers are visible, one to the north, the other at the south-east end of the main dwelling. The entrance gatehouse is placed at an angle between the outbuildings and the terrace against which the main dwelling rests. This gatehouse is flanked by a tower. A covered wall-walk continued to the main tower. A wrought iron guard-rail replaces it over a large part. The L-shaped main dwelling is composed of three blocks corresponding to various extensions: a medieval section fitted with a south wing and a main dwelling of the 18th century. A gallery overlooks the terrace.
