Historique
En 1872 débute la reconstruction totale de l'ancienne église, jugée trop dégradée, sur les plans de l'architecte Lavallée-Duperroux. Le décor intérieur de la nouvelle église est conçu, pour la statuaire, par les frères Jacquier et, pour les verrières, par l'atelier Duhamel-Marette. Cet ensemble de 51 verrières a été réalisé en trois étapes : la nef et le transept de 1874 à 1880, le chur de 1885 à 1889, les chapelles occidentales en 1898. Le programme iconographique illustre les cycles de la vie du Christ, de la Vierge et de Saint-Joseph, les martyrs de Pierre et Paul, les archanges, les saints, la vie de certains donateurs, ainsi que les grands lieux contemporains de pèlerinage dédiés à la Vierge.

History
In 1872 the total reconstruction of the former church, deemed too degraded, begins according to the plans of the architect Lavallée-Duperroux. The interior decoration of the new church is designed, for the statuary, by the brothers Jacquier and, for the stained glass, by the workshop Duhamel-Marette. This set of 51 stained-glass windows was realised in three stages: the nave and transept from 1874 to 1880, the choir from 1885 to 1889, the western chapels in 1898. The iconographic programme illustrates the cycles of the life of Christ, of the Virgin and of Saint-Joseph, the martyrs of Peter and Paul, the archangels, the saints, the life of certain donors, as well as the great contemporary places of pilgrimage dedicated to the Virgin.
