Le commanditaire de ce tombeau, Camille Olive, confia la réalisation de louvrage à larchitecte Pascal-Xavier Coste. Sa construction débuta en 1865 et sacheva en 1872. A cette occasion, Coste renoua avec ses travaux de jeunesse sur larchitecture arabe. Conçu dans un style mauresque et agrémenté dun décor de céramique emprunté à larchitecture perse, ce tombeau se distingue également par sa monumentalité et par le luxe des matériaux mis en oeuvre. Il sagit de la seule uvre orientaliste de son auteur.

History
The patron of this tomb, Camille Olive, entrusted the execution of the work to the architect Pascal-Xavier Coste. Its construction began in 1865 and ended in 1872. On this occasion, Coste returned to his youthful works on Arab architecture. Designed in a Moorish style and adorned with ceramic decoration borrowed from Persian architecture, this tomb is also distinguished by its monumentality and by the luxury of the materials used. It is the only orientalist work by its author.
