Historique
Hôtel construit vers 1745 pour Jean-André Roux, armateur marseillais. Il devient résidence préfectorale à partir de 1806 (restauration de l'ensemble et nouveau décor). Après l'inauguration de la nouvelle préfecture (1866) , l'hôtel est rendu à la ville qui y installe en 1891 le premier lycée de jeunes filles créé à Marseille par la IIIème République (surélévation d'un étage). L'hôtel est aujourd'hui intégré dans le lycée Montgrand.

History
Hôtel built around 1745 for Jean-André Roux, Marseille shipowner. It became the prefectoral residence from 1806 onwards (restoration of the whole and new decoration). After the inauguration of the new prefecture (1866), the hôtel was returned to the town which installed there in 1891 the first secondary school for girls created in Marseille by the Third Republic (raising of one storey). The hôtel is today integrated into the Montgrand lycée.
