Historique
La salle du conseil d'administration de la Société minière se situe au rez-de-chaussée d'une maison datable des années 1920. Exécuté à la gloire du site minier et industriel de la région, le décor, peint à l'huile directement sur les murs, est l'oeuvre d'un peintre belge, Auguste Equeter, réalisée au cours de l'exode de 1940. La fresque la plus impressionnante est le panneau central représentant « La prévoyance, l'union, la mutualité, la solidarité ». Dans « Le coup de grisou », l'artiste a reproduit la galerie de mine soufflée par une explosion. Enfin, « La découverte » illustre la première exploitation à ciel ouvert de France, en 1892.

History
The board room of the Mining Company is located on the ground floor of a house datable to the 1920s. Executed to the glory of the mining and industrial site of the region, the decoration, painted in oil directly onto the walls, is the work of a Belgian painter, Auguste Equeter, created during the exodus of 1940. The most impressive fresco is the central panel representing "Foresight, unity, mutuality, solidarity". In "The coal dust explosion", the artist reproduced the mine gallery blown up by an explosion. Finally, "The discovery" illustrates France's first open-pit mining operation, in 1892.
