A l'emplacement de l'ancienne prison de la ville, la construction du groupe scolaire Jean-Jaurès fut entreprise en 1924 sous la conduite des architectes Emile Bertrand et Guillaume Vidal. Au décès de ceux-ci, le chantier fut repris et achevé par Paul Enderlin, et inauguré le 22 juillet 1928 en présence du président de la République.

History
On the site of the former city prison, the construction of the Jean-Jaurès school complex was undertaken in 1924 under the direction of architects Emile Bertrand and Guillaume Vidal. On their death, the work was taken over and completed by Paul Enderlin, and inaugurated on 22 July 1928 in the presence of the President of the Republic.
