Historique
Hangars en kit Mistral témoignant de l'architecture provisoire élaborée dans les années 1930-1940, ayant servi de centre de formation des pilotes entre 1932 et 1980. Les bâtiments techniques furent érigés en 1937, mais la Seconde guerre mondiale entraîne la fermeture du site entre 1939 et 1941. Le 31 août 1944, le site devient centre école national de la Montagne Noire qui connaîtra son apogée dans les années 70. Parmi les bâtiments, certains ont été détruits. Sont conservés les deux hangars en charpente bois des années 30. Ces hangars en kit se trouvaient entreposés par les Allemands à Blagnac, en caisses. Ils ont été récupérés après la Libération. Le hangar Mistral I est monté en 1944 ; le hangar Mistral II en 1949. La cantine, petit bâtiment en bois genre saloon, conserve les panneaux des stages et des promotions qui s'y sont succédés.

History
Mistral kit hangars bearing witness to provisional architecture developed in the 1930s-1940s, which served as a pilot training centre between 1932 and 1980. The technical buildings were erected in 1937, but the Second World War led to the closure of the site between 1939 and 1941. On 31 August 1944, the site became the Montagne Noire national school centre which reached its peak in the 1970s. Among the buildings, some were destroyed. Two timber-framed hangars from the 1930s have been preserved. These kit hangars were stored by the Germans at Blagnac, in crates. They were recovered after the Liberation. Mistral hangar I was erected in 1944; Mistral hangar II in 1949. The canteen, a small wooden building in saloon style, preserves the panels of the training courses and promotions that took place there.
