Construit en 1918 pour abriter les troupes coloniales, le camp du Vernet se transforma en camp de prisonniers allemands et austro-hongrois. Le camp de concentration et d'internement du Vernet est un témoin de l'internement de réfugiés espagnols après la guerre civile espagnole, puis de prisonniers internés pour des raisons politiques, ethniques ou religieuses au cours de la seconde guerre mondiale. History
Built in 1918 to house colonial troops, the camp of Le Vernet was transformed into a camp for German and Austro-Hungarian prisoners. The concentration and internment camp of Le Vernet is a testament to the internment of Spanish refugees after the Spanish Civil War, then of prisoners interned for political, ethnic or religious reasons during the Second World War.
