Intégrant des vestiges plus anciens, notamment des maisons médiévales et la tour de l'Evêque datant du 13e siècle, le couvent fut fondé à la fin du 17e siècle et connut une longue phase de construction au long du 18e siècle. Le couvent groupe dans une vaste enceinte des vestiges anciens au plan irrégulier, des bâtiments claustraux ordonnés autour d'un cloître classique aux éléments porteurs en brique apparente et la chapelle. Celle-ci, au nord, séparée du cloître par une cour et des bâtiments annexes, d'une ordonnance très classique avec sa nef unique cantonnée de chapelles peu profondes, montre des traces baroques par la richesse ornementale des retables et autels.

History
Incorporating earlier remains, notably medieval houses and the Bishop's Tower dating from the 13th century, the convent was founded at the end of the 17th century and underwent a long building phase throughout the 18th century. The convent groups within a vast precinct older remains on an irregular plan, claustral buildings arranged around a classical cloister with exposed brick structural elements and the chapel. This latter, to the north, separated from the cloister by a courtyard and ancillary buildings, of a very classical arrangement with its single nave flanked by shallow chapels, shows baroque traces through the ornamental richness of the reredoses and altars.
