Historique
L'église est mentionnée pour la première fois en 1264. Toutefois, elle n'est pas à cette époque l'église paroissiale de Roquebrune qui est alors Sainte-Marie de Ribaccio. Cette dernière ayant été ruinée au cours du XVIe siècle, Sainte-marguerite devient l'église paroissiale autour de 1570. L'édifice et largement restauré dans les années 1610-1620. L'autre restauration au milieu du XVIIIe siècle finit de lui donner son esthétique baroque. Toutefois dès le début du XIXe siècle, l'église est en mauvais état. Ce n'est qu'en 1880 qu'un vaste chantier de restauration et de réaménagement est entrepris et ce jusqu'en 1883 par le chanoine Grana. Les décors peints actuels sont entièrement réalisés à cette époque par le peintre Gastaldi ou Bistolfi selon les sources.

History
The church is mentioned for the first time in 1264. However, it is not at that time the parish church of Roquebrune which is then Sainte-Marie de Ribaccio. The latter having been ruined during the 16th century, Sainte-Marguerite becomes the parish church around 1570. The building is largely restored in the years 1610-1620. Another restoration in the middle of the 18th century finishes giving it its baroque aesthetic. However, from the beginning of the 19th century, the church is in poor condition. It is not until 1880 that a vast programme of restoration and reorganisation is undertaken and continues until 1883 by canon Grana. The current painted décors are entirely executed at this time by the painter Gastaldi or Bistolfi according to sources.
