La maison abrite depuis 1484 la fondation de l'Avocaterie des Pauvres, institution maintenue jusqu'au début du 20e siècle. Cette construction témoigne de l'architecture bourgeoise de la fin du Moyen Age. Elle regroupe deux maisons qui restent distinctes au niveau des toitures et du plan. La maison principale, ouvrant sur la rue Fresque, a conservé son entrée en anse de panier, encadrée par deux arcs de boutiques. La porte donne sur un passage conduisant à un puits de lumière avec un escalier à vis dans oeuvre, ce qui est une disposition assez rare. L'organisation générale date de l'époque médiévale et le premier niveau s'articule autour de la petite cour. Outre la structure, de nombreux éléments datant du 15e siècle sont encore en place, en particulier les coussièges. Les travaux du 17e siècle ont modifié les ouvertures côté rue de l'Etoile et rue Louis Raoul. Les cheminées ont été reprises au cours du 18e siècle. A la fin du 19e siècle, les réparations sont importantes mais sans changement notable.

History
The house has housed since 1484 the foundation of the Avocaterie of the Poor, an institution maintained until the early 20th century. This construction testifies to the bourgeois architecture of the late Middle Ages. It brings together two houses which remain distinct at the level of roofs and plan. The main house, opening onto rue Fresque, has retained its segmental arch entrance, framed by two arcs of shop openings. The door gives onto a passage leading to a light well with a spiral staircase within the structure, which is a fairly rare arrangement. The general organisation dates from the medieval period and the first level is articulated around the small courtyard. Besides the structure, many elements dating from the 15th century are still in place, in particular the coussièges. Work in the 17th century modified the openings on the rue de l'Etoile and rue Louis Raoul side. The chimneys were repaired in the course of the 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, the repairs are substantial but without notable change.
