History
On the edge of the forest, the fortification is situated 300 m from the farm of Montbourcher. It comprises a motte surrounded by a large dry ditch, a crescent-shaped bailey 22 m wide, all surrounded by a strong earthwork and a ditch, and a small oval enclosure situated 50 m to the north of the motte. The motte, 28 m wide and 6 m high, has a summit platform littered with numerous stones. The site is known from texts from the end of the 11th century.
