"Restaurant construit en 1936 à l'occasion de la modernisation de l'hôtel Plaza-Athénée (voir notice PA00132983). Occupant le rez-de-chaussée d'un immeuble de la fin du 19e siècle, mitoyen de cet hôtel, le nouveau restaurant était destiné à compléter la salle à manger de ce dernier. Les travaux sont confiés à l'architecte Constant Lefranc (auteur, avec Georges Wybo, de l'hôtel George V). Placé au-dessus du comptoir, le relief sculpté, représentant Diane Chasseresse, est l'oeuvre de Francine Saquy. Quelques éléments de décor ont été rajoutés en 1992, mais le restaurant conserve l'essentiel de son mobilier des années 1930, dont le "plafond lumineux"."

History
Restaurant built in 1936 on the occasion of the modernization of the Plaza-Athénée hotel (see notice PA00132983). Occupying the ground floor of a building from the late 19th century, adjoining this hotel, the new restaurant was intended to complement the latter's dining room. The work was entrusted to architect Constant Lefranc (author, with Georges Wybo, of the George V hotel). Placed above the counter, the sculpted relief, representing Diana the Huntress, is the work of Francine Saquy. A few decorative elements were added in 1992, but the restaurant retains the essential elements of its 1930s furnishings, including the "luminous ceiling".
