Fortification médiévale urbaine du 11e siècle. L'ouvrage est constitué par un tertre de terre de 40 mètres de diamètre à la base, pour une hauteur de près de neuf mètres. A l'origine, un système de fossés et de talus délimitant une ou plusieurs basses cours complétait le monument, pour constituer un véritable ensemble castral possédant son propre lieu de culte, l'église Saint-Pierre. Le tracé actuel semble avoir fossilisé la limite de l'enclave castrale dans son extension maximale du 14e siècle.

History
Medieval urban fortification of the 11th century. The structure consists of an earthen mound 40 metres in diameter at the base, with a height of nearly nine metres. Originally, a system of ditches and banks delimiting one or more outer courts complemented the monument, to constitute a genuine castle complex possessing its own place of worship, the church of Saint-Pierre. The current outline seems to have fossilised the boundary of the castle enclave at its maximum extent in the 14th century.
