Historique

History
The first mention of a knight of Jourgnac dates back to 1366. The whole is typical of a rural nobility dwelling. The habitation communicated with the church. The dependencies were arranged around a large courtyard bounded to the south by the main dwelling. The latter is composed of a principal building, a large pavilion to the east, a small building at the north-east corner and a small structure to the south which connects the eastern pavilion to the church. Inside, the dining room on the ground floor of the main building has a floor of pebbles arranged in rosettes, hearts and crosses. In the 16th century, the staircase shaft housed a vast straight stone staircase with two flights; the flight of steps from the ground floor remains. Above, the stone steps were replaced in the 17th century by a wooden staircase with reduced footprint compared to the original staircase. On the upper floor, the "first chamber" retains traces of painting on the ceiling beams. In the north courtyard, the dependencies consist of a barn-woodshed, a barn-press house and stables-coach houses.
