A deux kilomètres de Solignac, la voie romaine de Limoges à Périgueux traversait la Briance. History
Two kilometres from Solignac, the Roman road from Limoges to Périgueux crossed the Briance. At this location was erected, between the 13th and 15th century, this bridge which comprises four arches of which two are pointed arches on the right bank side, and two are round arches on the left bank side, a disparity which might perhaps be due to a repair following a rupture which would have given its name to the structure. On the upstream side are found three triangular cutwaters, of which two with refuges for pedestrians. On the downstream side rise three rectangular buttresses to the foot of the parapet. The deck is in a slight back. In the masonry of the point of the central refuge is found a hollowed-out die which must have served to carry a cross.
