History
The prehistoric site of Vivé is the oldest inhabited place in Martinique. Neolithic burials with grave goods, domestic equipment and polished stone tools were discovered there. A volcanic eruption dated to 295 A.D. made it possible to preserve the majority of the Pre-Columbian site.
