Le cabanon, de seize mètres carrés, est construit en rondin de bois et matériaux industriels ; malgré ses dimensions et ses matériaux modestes, il présente un plan très élaboré, qui devait servir de modèle pour les autres unités de camping édifiées sur le site, et témoigne des recherches de l'architecte sur la production standardisée.

History
Site developed in three main stages: the guinguette L'Etoile de Mer, built by cabaret owner Rebutato in 1948-1949; then the adjoining cabanon added by Le Corbusier in 1952; finally the camping units, a juxtaposition of five identical cells built in 1954-1957 by Le Corbusier.
