History
Type of noble house of Chalosse, established on a plateau overlooking the Adour, the château de Bachen occupies an ancient castle site. Seat of a barony linked to a vast domain, it was completely rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century. The ensemble consists of a main dwelling which, with its high roof, is akin to Béarnese architecture, and a low wing of outbuildings at right angles. In the vicinity are also an old agricultural outbuilding typical of the Landes and a wine cellar.
