Historique
Villa néo-mauresque édifiée de 1902 à 1905 pour Leclerc, commerçant de Bourges enrichi dans le textile. Il commande sa villa à une entreprise de maçonnerie locale, Olive Frères, sur le modèle d'une maquette qu'il aurait vue à une exposition universelle. La villa rassemble sur sa façade les éléments caractéristiques du vocabulaire mauresque : tour-minaret, merlons, arcs outrepassés, motifs décoratifs en relief, carreaux de faïence et traitement polychrome. A l'intérieur, deux loggias superposées reçoivent un décor peint librement inspiré du répertoire hispano-mauresque. C'est un des rares témoins subsistants du patrimoine néo-mauresque et orientalisant du littoral méditerranéen.

History
Neo-Moorish villa built from 1902 to 1905 for Leclerc, merchant of Bourges who became wealthy in textiles. He commissioned his villa from a local masonry company, Olive Frères, based on the model of a maquette he had seen at a universal exhibition. The villa gathers on its façade the characteristic elements of Moorish vocabulary: minaret tower, crenellations, ogival arches, decorative motifs in relief, faience tiles and polychrome treatment. Inside, two superimposed loggias receive decoration painted freely inspired by the Hispanic-Moorish repertory. It is one of the rare remaining witnesses of neo-Moorish and orientalising heritage of the Mediterranean coast.
