Seigneurie mentionnée dès le 13e siècle. La maison de maître fut construite au milieu du 18e siècle par le grand-père de l'écrivain Henri de Latouche. Editeur, ami des jeunes romantiques, défenseur de George Sand, il eut une influence comme précurseur de la littérature régionaliste. A partir de 1828, il fut directeur du "Figaro". La maison de maître présente un plan en U sur un rez-de-chaussée. Avec son domaine, elle est un témoin préservé d'un mode d'exploitation et d'habitat rural traditionnel de la vallée noire sous l'Ancien Régime et au 19e siècle. Résidence de campagne d'un sénateur, à la fin du 19e siècle, elle fut agrandie et agrémentée d'un parc paysager.
