Relais de poste créé à la fin du 15e siècle, le long de la route royale de Paris à Lyon. Le bâtiment existant est l'ancien logis d'honneur qui a accueilli des personnages illustres (Rabelais y assiste à la mort de Guillaume du Bellay en 1543) et qui conserve des éléments du 16e siècle (présence de décors peints des 16e et 17e siècles au premier étage). L'auberge a fonctionné jusqu'au 20e siècle.

History
Posting house created at the end of the 15th century, along the royal road from Paris to Lyon. The existing building is the former house of honour which welcomed illustrious figures (Rabelais witnessed the death of Guillaume du Bellay there in 1543) and which retains elements from the 16th century (presence of painted decoration from the 16th and 17th centuries on the first floor). The inn operated until the 20th century.
