History
Important fortified site, dated to the 13th century, controlled in the medieval period by the lords of Coucy. Religious establishment integrated into the fortification, charged with administering the domain. The two types of architecture stand side by side within the enclosure: the entrance gate and the towers, extended by the remains of the former wall, the entire fortified ensemble being established on a feudal motte surrounded by a wide moat still filled with water and the priory chapel adjacent to which stands the monks' dwelling.
