L'église offre un plan complexe qui témoigne de plusieurs phases de construction. A une nef dont il subsiste quelques éléments médiévaux (portails en tiers-point avec chapiteaux à crochets) , a été accolé entre le 14e et le 16e siècle un massif donjon-porche de pierre, ainsi qu'un transept et un choeur édifiés en brique, ce dernier également épaule d'imposantes structures défensives : grosse tour cylindrique et échauguette encorbellée. Les bas-côtés en brique sont datés 1866. Dohis est une remarquable illustration de l'évolution architectonique des églises thiérachiennes avec adaptation parfois des le 14e siècle d'édifices médiévaux aux nécessités du refuge et de la défense et aménagement de dispositifs de fortifications de diverses natures. Son donjon-porche présente un caractère particulièrement spectaculaire avec la hauteur sous voûte de son vestibule et les dimensions de la salle-refuge et l'originalité de sa flèche octogonale.

History
The church presents a complex plan which testifies to several phases of construction. To a nave of which some medieval elements subsist (pointed-arch portals with crocket capitals), was joined between the 14th and 16th centuries a substantial stone porch tower, as well as a transept and a chevet built in brick, the latter also buttressed by imposing defensive structures: large cylindrical tower and corbelled breteche. The brick aisles are dated 1866. Dohis is a remarkable illustration of the architectural evolution of Thiérache churches with adaptation sometimes from the 14th century onwards of medieval buildings to the necessities of refuge and defence and the arrangement of fortification devices of various types. Its porch tower presents a particularly spectacular character with the height under vault of its vestibule and the dimensions of the refuge chamber and the originality of its octagonal spire.
