Cet édifice a été construit sur les fondations d'un château plus ancien datant du 12e siècle sur le coteau de Montchevreuil, probablement par Guillaume de Mornay ou par son fils, Pierre de Mornay, qui reçut en donation en 1539 de Jean Chenu La Terre de Montchevreuil. History
This building was constructed on the foundations of an older castle dating from the 12th century on the slopes of Montchevreuil, probably by Guillaume de Mornay or by his son, Pierre de Mornay, who received in donation in 1539 from Jean Chenu the Land of Montchevreuil. In the 17th century, wings are added to the castle and stables built. The interior is remodelled in the 19th century by Jules de Mornay, Marquis of Montchevreuil.
