Ce petit édifice d'époque médiévale fut transformé en moulin, connu sous le nom de loge de Viarmes. En 1825 et 1826, il fut transformé dans le goût néogothique alors naissant, à la demande du Duc de Bourbon. History
This small medieval building was converted into a mill, known as the Viarmes lodge. In 1825 and 1826, it was transformed in the then nascent Neo-Gothic style, at the request of the Duke of Bourbon. The work was entrusted to architect Victor Dubois, and the sculptures were executed by Boichard and Thierry. This building is a particularly early testimony to the Neo-Gothic taste that accompanied the rediscovery of medieval art in the early 19th century. The abundant Romantic iconography about it made it one of the archetypes of the genre.
