Fondé en 1621, l'hospice fut reconstruit de 1752 à 1761 selon les plans de l'architecte Jacques-Germain Soufflot. De plan trapézoïdal, l'édifice se compose de quatre corps de bâtiments disposés autour d'une cour rectangulaire, un cinquième bâtiment faisant la jonction avec la rue carnot sur laquelle se dresse la façade principale. Bien que désaffectés de longue date, les locaux conservent de nombreux éléments témoignant de l'hospice réalisé par Soufflot.

History
Founded in 1621, the hospice was rebuilt from 1752 to 1761 according to plans by architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot. Of trapezoidal plan, the building is composed of four bodies of buildings arranged around a rectangular courtyard, a fifth building making the junction with rue Carnot on which the main façade stands. Although long disused, the premises retain numerous elements testifying to the hospice realized by Soufflot.
