La maison et le jardin ont été réalisés de 1957 à 1977 par Euclides Ferrera da Costa (1902-1984) , maçon né au Portugal, immigré en France en 1924 et naturalisé français en 1947. A proximité de l'ancienne usine Tréfimétaux, où il a travaillé quelques années, il a transformé un modeste cabanon en une expression exceptionnelle de l'Art populaire, utilisant des matériaux de récupération (débris de vaisselle, de verre ou de miroirs, encastrés dans du ciment). Le premier édicule dans le jardin, un mausolée à la gloire de la chienne russe Laïka, morte dans un spoutnik en 1957, est suivi d'une quinzaine d'autres : chapelles, églises, moulins et grottes. History
The house and garden were created from 1957 to 1977 by Euclides Ferrera da Costa (1902-1984), a mason born in Portugal, who immigrated to France in 1924 and became a French citizen in 1947.
