Maison forte percheronne. Le château de Beauvais fut bâti vers la fin du 16e siècle, sur l'emplacement d'un château médiéval dont il est fait mention dès le 12e siècle. Construit sur un plan quadrangulaire, il ne subsiste plus aujourd'hui que les deux tours rondes du sud-est, celle de gauche abritant le pigeonnier, celle de droite à usage de chapelle. Le porche d'entrée dût être refait à cette époque également. N'en subsistent aujourd'hui que les deux piedroits dont le sommier et le départ des deux clavaux sur celui de droite témoignent de la forme en plein cintre qu'il devait avoir avant sa destruction au 19e siècle. L'ensemble des bâtiments fut repercé et agrandi à la fin du 17e siècle. L'intérieur était orné d'un ensemble de boiseries d'époque Louis XIII.

History
Stronghouse of the Perche region. The castle of Beauvais was built towards the end of the 16th century, on the site of a medieval castle mentioned as early as the 12th century. Built on a quadrangular plan, only the two round towers of the south-east survive today, the one on the left housing the pigeon-house, the one on the right used as a chapel. The entrance porch must have been remade at this time as well. Today only the two jambs survive, of which the sill and the spring of the two voussoirs on the right bear witness to the round-arched form it must have had before its destruction in the 19th century. All the buildings were reopened and enlarged at the end of the 17th century. The interior was adorned with a set of Louis XIII woodwork.
