Historique
Le château de Ranes prit la relève de la vieille citadelle d'Asnebecq. En 1404, le manoir fut transformé en une importante construction dont la tour est la pièces maîtresse. Endommagé par un incendie en 1719, le château subit d'importantes restaurations effectuées jusqu'en 1730. La forteresse a conservé son donjon couronné de créneaux et de mâchicoulis. Il possède un escalier en pierre dont l'ampleur est à souligner. La façade principale se termine, à chaque extrémité, par un pavillon. A l'intérieur subsistent deux salons, l'un de style grand siècle, l'autre aux boiseries Louis XV.

History
The castle of Ranes took the place of the old stronghold of Asnebecq. In 1404, the manor was transformed into an important construction of which the tower is the centrepiece. Damaged by fire in 1719, the castle underwent major restorations carried out until 1730. The fortress has retained its keep crowned with crenellations and machicolations. It possesses a stone staircase whose scale is remarkable. The main façade ends, at each extremity, in a pavilion. Inside remain two salons, one in grand siècle style, the other with Louis XV woodwork.
