Au 11e siècle, Marcei était un prieuré bénédictin dépendant de l'abbaye de Cerisy-la-Forêt dont les religieux conservaient la baronnie. History
In the 11th century, Marcei was a Benedictine priory dependent on the abbey of Cerisy-la-Forêt whose monks held the barony. Later, the dwelling of Romanesque period was leased by the monks to gentlemen. The monks pierced large Renaissance windows with mullions and extended the primitive building towards the east. At the junction of the two buildings was built a tower with chamfered angles. In 1792, the barony was sold as national property.
